refinished dresser

This dresser, that my sister refinished for her daughters was the inspiration I needed to refinish my old dresser for my little girl, and ultimately what put the idea into my mind about starting a blog...

old dresser redone with paint and scrapbook paper!

My old dresser (Armoire) from high school.  I painted it brown, then placed scrapbook pages on the doors and drawers (with modpodge) then lots of coats of poly!

Dresser ideas

This was my dresser growing up and it is a good, stable dresser so we passed it onto my son.  First, we had to make it his.

I painted it the coolest color green I could find.  I then let it sit for 24 hours, sanded the edges, stained the edges and wiped off the stain.  Love how this one turned out!!

Hand-me-down desk

We have had this desk for quite a while and I decided to spruce it up. I painted it cream "Bone" and then antiqued it with stain.  I left the top brown and kept the original handles.  It is perfect size for out printer and laptop plus we live in a small home so this desk fits easily.

Used coffee table

I found this wonderful table at DI, which is like a Goodwill, for $20.00.  I wanted to show it how it was but it needed a little help, so I sanded it and stained it with just one coat.

Updating a side table

Just ignore the legos...I found this picture of what the table looked before I painted it.  There were so many layers that it took me way too long to sand it.  Next time I think I will try a paint thinner.

I love tourquise and thought it would look pretty antiqued

The old window I had mirror put in and painted it to match the table.  The mirror is located on the craft corner part of the blog.

Making shelves fun

Found this shelf at Michaels for $14.99 but with their 40% off coupon, you can print off every week, I paid about $9.00.  I paint it cream "Bone" and after 24 hours of drying I sanded the edges and then stained and wiped the stain off with a rag.
